Howcroft Field Service was established by Tom Howcroft Jr. in 1994.
Tom started Howcroft Field Service with 16 solid years of oil field mechanic experience. He knew every rig in the area as well as everyone who worked on them.
Purchasing a single service truck and renting out a shop Howcroft Field Service was in business. Specializing in Detriot Diesel Engines (8V91, 12V71, and later the 60 series) with the bragging right of removing an engine in the evening, rebuilding it over night and installing the newly rebuilt engine the next morning. He has always known the importants of zero downtime and adjusted his schedule to be available "8 days a week, 25 hours a day".
Tom has forged through the elements to take care of his customers. He climbed to the top of a rig in 30 degrees below zero without gloves commenting "I grow my own gloves." While in Bakersfield, CA he was forced to put his tools in a bucket of ice water to keep the tools from burning his hands.
Mission Statement: Honest, Fair, and Hard Work.
Goal: Tom built the foundations of Howcroft Field Service so that he would not be reliant on any other company. It was intended to be a place of learning, Tom wanted to teach his five sons hard work and give them opportunities to pursue their own endevors.
